Highlights from the SWG
- Revision of the 2006 IWG criteria: paper published in Blood in November 2018: Proposals for revised IWG 2018 hematological response criteria in patients with MDS included in clinical trials
- After first ideas and drafts in 2015 -> meeting of the initial steering committee members in Frankfurt
- Following the initial meeting several more mature drafts were generated and circulated within the MDS community (in Europe and the US)
- The final draft was submitted to Blood in August 2018 and published in November 2018 (PMID: 30404811)
- Active participation in EU initiatives:
- HARMONY Alliance
- EuroBloodNet (ERN)
- Forum for multi country clinical trials in MDS, mainly between France, Germany, Italy, Spain
- Involvement in the yearly EHA meeting with several abstracts as first und co-authors and with an educational session on MDS
- Pilot project on CMML guidelines in collaboration with EHA
