European Research Initiative on CLL (ERIC)
ERIC is devoted to improving the outcome of patients with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) and related diseases.
The objectives of ERIC are to promote:
- Research in all aspects of chronic lymphocytic leukemia and related diseases.
- Exchange and dissemination of knowledge and information in chronic lymphocytic leukemia and related diseases.
- Education and instruction in chronic lymphocytic leukemia and related diseases.
Educational initiatives within ERIC include the organization of educational hands on workshops and the implementation of Technical Certification Rounds (Certification of TP53 Mutational Analysis and Certification of IG gene sequence analysis).
Research activities include investigator-driven collaborative translational projects in studying potential association between biological and molecular markers and clinical outcomes.
Clinical guidance initiatives consist of the production and publication of recommendations on the use of prognostic/predictive markers - including TP53 aberrations, immunoglobulin gene analysis, minimal residual disease detection and allogeneic stem cell transplant.
ERIC data is shared with the following Networks: LeukemiaNet, IMI2 Consortium Harmony and National Hematological Societies.
