EHA Congratulates EHA Research Grants 2022 Recipients
The Hague, May 30, 2022 – EHA congratulates eight talented researchers in hematology on their receipt of the EHA Research Grants 2022 after a rigorous selection process.
EHA Research Grants support talented early career researchers in advancing their career towards becoming leaders of research groups. These grants are intended for basic and translational lab-based research in hematology. Novel and relevant translational parts of a clinical trial can also be funded in compelling circumstances.
"It is the dynamic interaction between research and patient care that provide the most fertile soil for the next generation of expert hematologists to thrive. The EHA research funding program is therefore of central importance to us. By granting support both for early carrier steps and advanced hematology research we connect highly talented researchers in the field and to EHA. We are working towards increasing our grant funding to make even larger contributions towards the future of hematology. This year we received an impressive number of outstanding applications covering many relevant topics in hematology. We congratulate all award winners for their successful applications and are looking forward to follow them become leaders in their field and contributing to the mission of EHA.” says Professor Jean-Pierre Bourquin, Chair of the EHA Fellowships & Grants Committee.
The Fellowships & Grants Committee would like to thank all applicants for the high quality of all proposals submitted and continue to encourage early career researchers, especially those from under represented countries, to apply to the 2023 edition which will open in the fall of 2022.
Research Grants 2022 awardees are in institutes in France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. They join a network of over 120 distinguished researchers who have received EHA Funding in the past.

The Topics-in-Focus program was launched by EHA to support hematologists in this rapidly developing scenario, aiming to raise awareness, provide education, further research, and build a network of experts in specific fast-growing areas. In 2022, EHA awarded two Topics-in-Focus grants meant for quality basic or translational research projects in the field of Immunotherapy. The talented recipients of these grants are from institutes in France and the Netherlands.
